I hope everyone has settled in and getting ready for an exciting
semester with GBP! We have many exciting event coming up and we will
discuss them at the first general meeting.
The meeting will be on Wednesday, January 25 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m..
The meeting will be in ES&T L1255. RSVP so we can have enough food for
everyone!

Lego League Robotic Competition (January 27th-29th)
An event that GBP helped with last year. Duties range from registering teams, taking photos, keeping score,etc. Please see the attachment concerning duty descriptions. If you are interested, please fill out the attached volunteer sign-up form and return to Jeff Davis (Klaus 3314) or email to jeff.davis@ece.gatech.edu by Friday January 13th. To receive your GBP point, make sure to add "Gamma Beta Phi" to the section "Organization Affiliation". If you have any questions, please email Jeff Davis at the above address.
MedShare (March 3rd & April 7th)
MedShare is a nonprofit organization which improves lives through the recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to healthcare facilities in developing countries.We will primarily be packaging these supplies for shipment. We will be working from 1-4pm on both of the Saturdays mentioned above.
Water Resource Symposium(April 16th)
Michelle Mandragon has invited GBP to attend the upcoming Water Resource Symposium(see attached flyer). For those who participated in the river clean-up last semester with GBP, please email her at mandragm@hotmail.com for free admittance.

Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner: Monday November 21st @ 7:30 pm
-This event has been moved back one day from Tuesday to Monday since many members will be out of town Tuesday evening for the holiday.
-The location is being finalized. Most likely it will be in the Klaus Atrium.
Bring clothing donations for the following organizations:
7 Bridges to Recovery :which is a Christian based organization which provides housing and self help programs as well as physical and spiritual healing
AND
The Gateway Center: a non-affiliated organization, with a zero tolerance for alcohol/drug policy which helps the homeless through housing and self-sufficiency programs
Drive-in Movie Night: Saturday, November 19th @ Starlight Six Drive-in Theatre (on Moreland Ave, 15 minutes from campus)
-Cost is $7 per person, and you can stay for two movies back-to-back if you would like.
-We will need drivers. Keep in mind that as a driver, you park at whichever screen you want, a.k.a. you choose your movie(s).
-Meet inside the student center next to Einstein's Bagels @ 7:45 Saturday night to coordinate rides.
-Bring as many chairs as possible for others (folding/camping chairs are ideal....they fit better in the trunk).
-Nonmembers that attend the open meeting tomorrow are invited to the movies night. If you are inviting friends to the open meeting, please forward them this message so they know.

Gamma Beta Phi would like to invite you to our Fall Open Meeting!
Gamma Beta Phi (ΓΒΦ) is a service organization dedicated to promoting scholarship, service, and character. Every semester we have one open meeting that provides students with the opportunity to learn more about GBP.
We are excited to have Basma Osman from Kimberly Clark with us at this open meeting. She will share with us how to create a successful resume, what to do at career fairs, and how to interview well. Come learn more about GBP and/or learn useful job search skills!
And as always, food will be provided. Please RSVP so we will have enough food for everyone :)
